Here is PeterKelly's poem for the occasion:
For FF on his 65th Birthday
Behold our Colin, now he’s sixty five,
The age of wisdom and of old age pension,
It used to be enough to be alive,
But nowadays we’re used to life-extension.
There’s theatre, dogs, there’s poetry and books,
There’s caravan and gardening, kids and walking,
And decades left to do it, so it looks,
This isn’t merely optimism talking!
And then there is the crossword in the G
(The FF method cuts it like a knife)
And friends who call themselves the QCC
It’s like a portal to another life.
Retirement used to be a time of parting
But now at sixty-five your life is starting.
