My CAFFiversary by EestiGallnOZ

It’s my CAFFiversary!!!
One year (and four days) ago, after about a year of wandering up and down the deserted sandy shore, I pinched my nose betwixt my thumb and forefinger and held my breath as I took my very first, wildly self-conscious dive into the briny below-the-line deep, hoping not to be dashed against the rocks by the unpredictable swell—and, of course, I wasn’t.
Loins and Fleur bobbed up almost immediately in welcome, along with Queen Bee Susan and Nan and others, all instantly helping and encouraging me to find my level. Here I have found a truly unique place to share love of language and literature, whimsy and witticisms, and even the odd recipe along with the chronicles of our lives. Unique because, let’s face it, where else can I raise an eyebrow or a wry smile, or have unfettered access to encyclopaedic knowledge and hard-earned wisdom, feel the warmth of virtual hugs which sometimes morph into real friendships, and, especially and most deliciously (and often to the bemusement and/or confusion of my family) laugh out loud from the comfort of my desk / bed / kitchen stool / car seat? All for the low price of a yearly sub, a little tax and an avoidance of ‘spoilers’ (a charming and quirky tradition – leave it alone!). So far as virtual worlds go, this place would have to be one of the most cohesive, respectful and tolerant communities, and I’m so happy that I took that dive.
So,
The cheesy comestibles are at the bar, along with some sriracha hummus, and the carbonated beverage of your choice. I am waiting to cut the CAKE (a Beatrix strawberry chiffon cake) until my Northern friends are on deck.
In the meantime, tax is due for today; Here, in a come-full-circle gesture, is the Bard of Barking, who considers that:
“The most important decisions in life
Are made between two people 19D Between the sheets.”
I can see how that might be true.
Happy hump day :)
