The Gloucestershire Gathering
In September 2013 we gathered again in Gloucestershire. This time there were 24 QCCers attending the gathering, some from very far away: Civsum from Florida, Crucigrama from Buenos Aires and Subbie and Mrs S from Sydney.
Our three hosts were ElizabethDavid, Nellietheelephant and FriedFish and we enjoyed a wonderful weekend of glorious food, drink and splother. This time there was no burning of the cake, but we had a fantastic bonfire.
Here is PeterKelly's poem about the gathering:
And when the Gathering came to Stroud,
And splothering spread across the land,
The mood was good; the feeling proud,
The splotherers said, "Let's make a stand!"
And in the night so dark and wide,
And by the bonfire's leaping flame,
We necked the alcohol and cried,
"Let's burn the house down ! What a game !"
