The Tunbridge Wells Gathering
In October 2023 a group of cruciverbalists met in Tunbridge Wells for a bit of face to face splother.

Attending a gathering
Is certainly daunting
After all, one might well be found wanting.
Au contraire, bonhomie reigns
“How do we pronounce your names?”
Was the extent of the grilling
For leaves red and foreign.
Put a name to a face
Never feel out of place
Charm, chat and grins abound
So friendships are affirmed.

In the style of Edgar Allan Poe ...
In Tunbridge's darkened halls, a tale to tell,
Where minds, like ravens, gather, cryptic spell.
A gathering of cruciverbal might,
In shadows deep, beneath the waning light.
Mrs. Matisse, with brush and clue in hand,
Paints words with strokes, a puzzle's arcane land. Manyani's mind, a labyrinthine verse,
Where letters dance in patterns, minds immerse. Feuilles, a forest, leaves of thoughts entwined,
Where riddles grow, in whispers of the wind. Susanhenna, with enigmatic grace,
Unfolds the secrets in each cryptic space. Redsnapperoo, swift as a raven's flight,
Unravels puzzles, in the dimming night.
Gefreiter, Esjaysfountain, and LondonBBG,
Their minds, like ink, flow with an endless sea.
Demi, with fun and playful cryptic jest,
Adds mirth to shadows, lightens up the quest. Together, they in cryptic conclave meet,
In Tunbridge's realm, where crosswords' tales entreat. With every clue, a shiver down the spine,
In cryptic verses, mysteries entwine.
In shadows deep, their words weave tales untold,
In Tunbridge's gathering, mysteries unfold.
